Biography

Former Scotland international Ian Murray was appointed manager in November 2012.

After waiting more than a month, Ian hit the ground running with a win away to Falkirk in his first league match before producing a minor miracle to avoid relegation with a game to spare.

In 2013/14, Ian guided Dumbarton to their highest league finish in 27 years and a first Scottish Cup quarter final since 1979. For the quarter final, he became the first Dumbarton manager to be honoured with a facemask bearing his image!

In his final season he acheived safety from relegation with an impressive six matches remaining before he departed for St. Mirren in May 2015.
