Biography

he young left back, who has worked his way through the Rangers youth academy and is a current Scottish under 19 internationalist, was signed on a loan deal until January.

Manager Jim Duffy says that the Clydebank youngster will offer another defensive option.

He played three games on loan to Edinburgh City in the later stages of season 2017-18.

He started his career as a striker but was converted to left back under Graeme Murty when he was Rangers under 20 coach. The versatile youngster says he is also happy to play as a winger.

In September 2018 he signed a new three year deal at Ibrox, and played in the Reserve League side which won the SPFL Reserve League Trophy in May.

Matthew has also played for the Republic of Ireland under 18 and under 19 sides. He says that he will not be forced into a decision on his international future until he is at the under 21 stage.
